About Us
In 2019, I felt the need to make a difference in the Oscar Industry, to offer a programme that focuses on smaller numbers, to provide quality care for each child, and to provide a safe, nurturing environment that is both fun and creative.
Our Staff reflect our philosophy; therefore, they must comply with our policies and implement them to the highest level. All staff are Police Checked and must have enough knowledge and maturity to look after children and understand their needs. We have seen many families grow in the Northcote area, so opening an after-school care in Northcote just made sense.
You are welcome to pop in to meet me and my staff,
Jansyl Andrews,
Director of Mi Casa ASC Ltd

Jansyl Andrews
I'm originally from Chile. I lived in Australia for 15 years where I started my first business - the first Street Latin Dance Studio. Decided to visit New Zealand for Holidays and decided to stay after a bit longer...and that was 16 years ago. I have always been an entrepreneur, I love to be unique and to improve ideas, product an services. I always had ideas for a new business. I always wanted to make a difference in this world (even if it was through a small idea (small business)... and to hear my clients comments on how great my business is and to be able to put a smile in the children...that's is my biggest reward & satisfaction. I enjoy caring for children and sharing their world, they are honest , fun and curious. I love their energy and how they always want to discover and explore. been I have in this industry for more than 15 years. I'm currently a part time Teacher Aid at a local school. I decided to start my own business Mi Casa after school and Holiday Programme as I felt there was a 'A DESPERATE NEED' to improve this industry. a 'Home away from Home, a warm environment, welcoming & inclusive Programme, where children did not feel lost among the others. This is how the name 'Mi Casa (My Home) started....and this is how the business started too... Part of our philosophy is to include each individual child and to be able to deliver the best care depending on each individual needs. At Mi Casa our children are encouraged to respect and follow our values and principals, respecting our staff, themselves and each other. At Mi Casa some of us are teachers, some have a natural vocation of caring for children ...and some of us are Mums. We all share the same values and principals and our goal is to nurture and care for the well being of our children. At Mi Casa we work together as a team. Please come and see us! Have a great day, Jansyl Andrews

Jennifer Abuyog
My name is Jennifer Abuyog, and I bring 14 years of heartfelt experience in various educational settings. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, and a New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) at level 7 for Primary. Throughout my teaching journey, I've learned the importance of adaptability in nurturing the unique gifts of every child. I truly believe that each child is special, with their own learning style and needs. I strive to create a warm, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and safe. I know that children thrive when they can explore, learn, and play in a joyful and engaging atmosphere. That's why play-based learning is at the core of my teaching approach; it allows children to connect with their curiosity and discover the world around them. Currently, I have the privilege of working as a teacher aide at Wairau Valley Special School, and I am also a Programme Leader at Mi Casa After School, where my passion truly shines. There's nothing quite like the joy I feel when I see the spark in a child's eyes as they grasp something new. My sincere goal is to provide each child with the care, safety, and happiness they deserve in their everyday learning experiences.
